Why Did I Put This Programme Together?

The Lymphatic System is often overlooked when it comes to musculo-skeletal medicine, but in fact it is a crucial component of our health and wellbeing.
It consists of lymph vessels, ducts, nodes, and other tissues such as the tonsils, spleen and thymus gland.

It works closely with the Circulatory System to clear the body of foreign materials and toxins.

If you experience any of the following symptoms, then it could indicate that your Lymphatic system isn’t working optimally:

  • Generalised stiffness in the morning
  • Tightness
  • Soreness
  • Itching
  • Bloating or swelling, especially face, belly and extremities
  • Bad breath
  • Altered skin appearance including varicose veins and spider veins, acne, eczema
  • Painful lymph nodes
  • DOMS
  • Poor sleep
  • Brain fog
  • Inability to lose weight (fat protects the body from toxins, so if the brain allowed the fat to disappear then the body would get sick)
  • Slow recovery or training plateau
  • Easily bruised
  • Delayed onset allergies
  • Red eyes
  • Flu like symptoms
  • Drippy nose
  • Constantly clearing your throat

Two things that move lymph are:

  • Diaphragmatic breathing
  • Human movement

If there is a blockage somewhere in the system, toxins can build up and cause an inflammatory response and thus pain or issues anywhere else.

Lymph needs to drain back towards the heart so if you have pain in one part of your body, you need to clear the path back towards your heart with gentle daily rubbing, tapping or brushing.

I have put together this self-help Get Active Lymph programme using information and simple techniques learnt from @stopchasingpain to assist you with any issues mentioned above.

It contains 8 videos totalling approx. 30 mins:

  1. Theory of Lymphatic drainage and potential issues resulting from poor drainage
  2. How to use the programme
  3. Longer lymph drainage technique
  4. Medium lymph drainage technique
  5. Quick lymph drainage technique
  6. How to improve thoracic rotation using lymph drainage
  7. How to improve thoracic rotation using fascial mobilisations for the liver and spleen
  8. Lymph drainage techniques for the face
