Inspiring Confidence

Through

Natural Movement

Welcome

Welcome to Get Active Living, where my aim is for you to:

  • Regain control and feel confident in your own body.
  • To feel motivated, inspired and able to move more often, in more ways and in more places.
  • To smile as you no longer groan when you get up off the sofa and finally realise that stiffness is not an inevitable part of aging.
  • To enjoy being active outdoors and using nature as your playground!

Is Get Active Living For You?

Are you fed up with feeling stiff and old, want to do something about it, but don’t know where to start? Maybe you have no time or don’t feel fit enough to exercise? Or you don’t like gyms and are looking for a new physical activity? If you fit into any of these categories or just like the idea of natural movement then Get Active Living is for you!

So, What is “Movement?”

We are all designed to move. When we first develop as kids, assuming all is well, we learn to roll, sit, crawl, squat, stand, climb, jump, hang, swing etc. Once we get to Secondary school age, we stop doing this so much. We sit more and we move in straight lines. For most of us this continues into adulthood. We sit at desks, in cars, on sofas. Walking, road running, cycling, even though they are great to do, they are predominantly done with our bodies moving in a straight line. We need to keep moving in all the ways nature intended to keep our bodies fully nourished in a movement sense.

It has been said that ‘movement’ is like food, and ‘exercise’ is like supplements. We need to move our bodies more often, in more ways and in more environments each day before we add on sport or exercise on top. Being inactive all day before beasting yourself for an hour at night is not the best way to exist.

This is great news if you dislike conventional gyms, exercise or sport. It means there is another way, and you can remain fit and healthy through natural movement alone if you do enough of it.

A Word From Our Members

<

“I’ve just done day 2 and can feel a lightness around my upper body. Wish I had done it first thing to feel the benefit of it for the full day instead of a couple of hours before bed.”

“I’ve been thinking what this course has been doing for me. It doesn’t have to be amazing, incredible things……I can put on my socks….easily; I can sit on the floor, very comfortably. This is life changing.”

“Today I did something I’ve not done for many years, I sat comfortably on the floor then managed to almost sit cross legged. I’m still sitting on the floor as I type this and I have next to no pain. I’m thrilled, thank you.”

“I have made my mum do a few jumps today….she didn’t know I was videoing her…. I’ve been noticing less stiffness myself after running and fewer niggles. Have been recommending this course to anyone who is trying to keep sporty and stay injury free.”

“So … my teenage son has gone from barely leaving the sofa during lockdown to bleep tests at school/football training and hockey training and was shocked to develop anterior shin pain. I managed to talk him into doing one of the 15 min sessions before hockey last night …. 2 hrs of training later no pain, football tonight and he is willingly going to do another 15 mins before training !!! Ros I would take that as a massive win 😊”

“I am loving the programme! I am finding the 15 minute sessions really varied and accessible. I feel it is making a difference already. Really grateful for all the work you’ve put in!”
